In 1967, Gerry declared himself an artist. He was 16. In 1974, he received a B.S. in Chemistry from UC Riverside. During 1976 –1978, he was a Peace Corps volunteer teaching Chemistry in Kenya. His water color skills improved as he captured new and exciting subjects in Africa. After returning home, he studied Illustration at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco and worked as an analytical chemist. Eventually, he was all-in with Chemistry and received a Masters in Chemistry from San Francisco State University in 1988. For the next 24 years, he worked in the analytical chemistry and computer software fields. He seeks ever increasing ability to observe clearly and record my impressions accurately.
