Art by Jeanne Bertolina
"In My Own Backyard - Images of Hayward"
“My passion is seeing beauty and artistic possibilities everywhere and making interesting (and sometimes surprising) compositions from everyday subjects.”
This project got started because I’m just not a good traveler. So I don’t wander very far from home.
Fortunately for me, I live in one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and there are plenty of opportunities to be in wonderful environments as day or weekend trips, or even right in my own neighborhood every single day. This series started from a photo album I was making just for myself, based on the beauty and landmarks of my local community.
As it developed, I realized that it was turning into something I wanted to share, so I decided to move into the world of printing, and framing, and galleries to show my work and remind my neighbors of the character and beauty of our local area. This show has been hung in whole or part as a one-woman show in six different venues.
Prints are 12 x 12, matted and framed to 16 x 16 and are $150 each. For more information on Jeanne and her work, CLICK HERE. For purchase information, email the HAC office at firstname.lastname@example.org. All the proceeds from the sales will go to the Hayward Arts Council.
