Call for Art 2026 Member Exhibition
Venue Location: John O'Lague Galleria in Hayward City Hall, 777 B Street, downtown Hayward
Gallery Hours: Monday—Friday, 9AM—5PM
Show Dates: Monday, January 12—Wednesday, March 4, 2026
Reception: Friday, January 23, 2026, 5PM—7PM
Online Submission Dates: Friday, December 5, 2025 —Friday, January 2, 2026
Drop off: Thursday, January 8, 4PM—6PM or Friday, January 9, 9:30AM—11AM
Pick up: Thursday, March 5, 4PM—6PM or Friday, March 6, 9:30AM—11AM
Mediums: Drawings, paintings, small sculptures, digital art, collages, photography, mixed media, textile art, poetry, and illustrated written word. No installation of artwork.
Guidelines:
● You must be a 2026 current member to participate. CLICK HERE for Membership Form.
● Registration closes on January 2, 2026 or until we reach a total of 60 artworks, whichever comes first. ONE ARTWORK PER ARTIST.
● For 2D artworks: Artworks are preferred to be framed or canvas with a painted edge to add a finished look to your work. Limited size of artwork, 36" width x 48" high. All 2D artworks must be ready to hang –Use D-rings and wire attached 1/3 from the top.
● For 3D artworks: Approx. 24" width x 36" high, under 20 pounds with a stable base.

No insurance coverage for loss or damage applies. Every artist assumes the risk of exhibition. Artists are required to agree to the terms and conditions of the exhibition in the online entry form releasing and holding harmless the City of Hayward, Hayward Arts Council, its Board of Directors, employees, and volunteers from and against any and all liability for any damage or loss of artwork on display, and for copyright infringement(s) in the distribution and publication of photographs of artwork for the purpose of the "Inspiration in the New Era" 2026 HAC Members Exhibition.
HAC reserves the right for curating the final artworks to be exhibited. No nudity, images of violence, or political or religious artwork will be accepted. "Inspiration in the New Era" 2026 HAC Members Exhibition.
Artwork can be sold but cannot be removed from the exhibition until the show closes on March 4, 2026.
Art sales will be conducted by the Hayward Arts Council, which retains a 20% commission on all sales made during the exhibition. HAC will collect and pay the appropriate sales tax to the state. Payment for sales will be mailed to the artist within 30 days of the closing date of March 4, 2026 of the "Inspiration in the New Era" 2026 HAC Members Exhibition. HAC will be responsible for exchanging artwork with the buyer.
Publicity will be provided by the Hayward Arts Council. Images of artwork may be used in social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. In addition, images will be used in the HAC monthly newsletter.
