“Celebrating our Creativity” 2025 HAC Members Exhibition
This exhibition is open to all media. Express your creativity!!
You must be a 2025 member to participate in this exhibition. Call for entry/registration form closes on Monday, January 6, 2025, or until we reach a total of 60 artworks, whichever comes first. ONE ARTWORK PER ARTIST.
Venue Location: John O'Lague Galleria at Hayward City Hall, 777 B Street, Hayward
Gallery Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM—5:00 PM
Show Dates: Monday, January 13, 2025—Wednesday,, March 5, 2025
Reception and Members Social: Friday, January 24,2025 from 5:30 PM—7:30 PM
Online Submission Dates: Monday, December 2, 2024—Friday, January 3, 2025
Drop off: Thursday, January 9, 2025, 4PM-6PM
Pick up: Thursday, March 6, 2025, 4PM-6PM
Mediums: Drawings, paintings, small sculptures, digital art, collages, and illustrated written word. No installation of artwork.
Guidelines:
For this submission, your artworks should have never been shown at the John O'Lague Galleria before.
HAC reserves the right to curate the final artworks to be exhibited. No nudity, images of violence, or political or religious artwork will be accepted. 2D or 3D, any media.
All 2D artworks must be original. No prints on canvas. The size may range from 10 "x 10" to 30" x 30", including the frame. All the artwork either comes with a frame or shows nice painted borders/edges, and must be ready to hang –Use D-rings and wire attached 1/3 from the top. Please attach a tag in the back of your artwork including name, medium and price.
All 3D artworks must have a stable bottom and safe for public to view. Artists will bring a one-page bio for the gallery binder.
A JPEG of your artwork must be uploaded with the entry form. For assistance uploading your jpeg online, please contact Winda Shimizu at hac@haywardartscouncil.org
Entry Fee: The entry fee for Hayward Arts Council members is $15, and to join/renew membership and pay show fee is $45.
Payment Methods: To pay online, use links on this page, using Debit or Credit Card via PayPal, no PayPal account required. To pay by a check, payable to Hayward Arts Council, and mail to Hayward Arts Council, P.O. Box 126, Hayward, CA 94543. Checks must be received by Monday, January 6, 2025.
No insurance coverage for loss or damage applies. Every artist assumes the risk of exhibition. Artists are required to sign this contract by agreeing on this statement releasing and holding harmless the City of Hayward, Hayward Arts Council, its Board of Directors, employees, and volunteers from and against any and all liability for any and all damage to or loss of artwork on display, and for copyright infringement(s) in the distribution and publication of photographs of artwork for purposes of the "Celebrating our creativity" 2025 HAC Members Exhibition.
Artwork can be sold but cannot be removed from the exhibition until the show closes on March 5, 2025. Art sales will be conducted by the Hayward Arts Council, which retains a 20% commission on all sales made during or because of the exhibition. HAC will collect and pay the appropriate sales tax to the state. Payment for sales will be mailed to the artist within 30 days of the March 5, 2025 close of the "Celebrating our creativity" 2025 HAC Members' Exhibition. HAC will be responsible for exchanging artwork with the buyer.
Publicity will be provided by the Hayward Arts Council. Images of artwork may be used in social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. In addition, images will be used in the HAC monthly newsletter.
