These landmarks are gone:

Ace Hardware

Caspers Hot Dog

City Hall Tower

Fuel Cell Plant

Hayward Fishery

Off the Grid

Ranch Restaurant

Warren Hall

These have changed:

Buffalo Bill's

Emile Villa's

Green Shutter Hotel

Val's Burgers

In 2015 I had a one-woman show at the main gallery of the Hayward Area Historical Society. It was called "In My Own Backyard - Images of Hayward." Since then not only have some of the landmarks I featured disappeared or changed dramatically, but the gallery itself is gone!

Also in 2015 I created a poster entitled "Hayward in Alphabetical Order," featuring an alphabet created from photos of letters taken throughout Hayward. Many of these places have also either changed or gone away.

So take a walk down memory lane with me and see how many things have changed around town in just over 10 years.

To see all the images from "In My Own Backyard" go to my website HERE and click on One Woman Show.
